Privacy policy

Effective November 2, 2026

Cutroom is software you install and run on your own computer. The Cutroom project does not operate a server that receives your videos, transcripts or account data. Information described here stays on your computer unless you choose a service that sends it elsewhere, as explained below.

Who we are

Cutroom is an open-source project published by Batuk at github.com/Batuktech/Cutroom. In this policy, "Cutroom", "we" and "us" mean the project and its publisher; "you" means the person running Cutroom.

Information Cutroom handles on your computer

Cutroom stores its data in a folder on your computer (by default .cutroom/ inside the Cutroom folder). It contains:

We do not receive this information. Cutroom has no user accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.

YouTube and Google account data

If you connect a YouTube channel, Cutroom uses Google OAuth and asks for these permissions:

PermissionWhat Cutroom does with it
youtube.uploadUploads the clips you approve to your channel, with the title, description, tags and visibility shown in Cutroom.
youtube.readonlyReads your channel's ID and name once after sign-in so Settings can show which channel is connected.

Cutroom stores the resulting access and refresh tokens, and the channel ID and name, in social-accounts.json inside its data folder, readable only by your operating-system user. They are sent only to Google's APIs, to refresh the sign-in and upload your clips. They are never sent to us, to AI providers or to anyone else.

Cutroom uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Cutroom's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to train AI or machine-learning models, and not read by people.

TikTok account data

If you connect a TikTok account, Cutroom uses TikTok Login Kit and asks for these permissions:

PermissionWhat Cutroom does with it
user.info.basicReads your display name so Settings can show which account is connected.
video.uploadSends a clip you approve to your TikTok inbox as a draft. You review and post it in the TikTok app.
video.publishPosts a clip you approve directly, with the caption and privacy setting you chose.

The TikTok tokens and display name are stored the same way as the Google ones, and are sent only to TikTok's APIs. TikTok's handling of your data is described in the TikTok Privacy Policy.

Services you can choose to use

These features send information off your computer only when you turn them on:

Each provider's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.

How long data is kept, and how to delete it

This website

This site is a static page hosted by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare may process technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Children

Cutroom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Cutroom listens only on your own computer (127.0.0.1) and stores platform tokens in owner-only files. Files in its data folder are not encrypted, so anyone with access to your operating-system account may be able to read them. Report security issues through GitHub's private vulnerability form.

Changes to this policy

We will update the effective date above when this policy changes. Earlier versions are kept in the project's public history on GitHub.
